One of Dubai's most ambitious holding companies — reshaping how people live, shop, stay, and play across the UAE.

Founded in 2007 and chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Meraas is a Dubai-based conglomerate with interests spanning real estate, retail, hospitality, food and beverage, leisure and entertainment, and healthcare. It is the force behind some of Dubai's most recognised destinations — from City Walk and La Mer to Bluewaters Island and The Beach at JBR.

Unlike a conventional developer or operator, Meraas creates entire urban experiences — mixed-use destinations that bring together residential, commercial, and lifestyle offerings under one coherent vision. That breadth is both its greatest asset and its core communication challenge: presenting a portfolio this diverse in a way that feels unified, purposeful, and premium rather than scattered.

Web design — creating a responsive digital presence that unified a sprawling multi-sector portfolio under one confident, coherent identity.

01

Information Architecture

Structured a portfolio spanning six business verticals into a navigable site architecture — giving each sector clear space while preserving the coherence of the Meraas group identity.

02

UI & Visual Design

Designed a clean, premium visual language that could carry Meraas's ambition — imagery-led, refined in typography, and confident enough to sit alongside the landmark destinations it represented.

03

Content Strategy

Shaped the content hierarchy across the site — determining how to surface Meraas's destinations, projects, and group story in a way that felt compelling to investors, partners, and the public alike.

04

Responsive Design

Delivered a responsive experience that maintained visual quality from widescreen editorial layouts through to the mobile screen — important for a brand whose audiences span global investors to Dubai residents.

The challenge

Founded in 2007, Meraas is a Dubai-based holding company operating across real estate, retail, hospitality, food and beverage, leisure and entertainment, and healthcare.

The challenge was presenting such a broad, multi-sector portfolio in a way that felt coherent and compelling.

My approach

I designed a responsive website that brought Meraas's diverse business interests under one clear, confident structure — letting each sector shine while reinforcing the group's overall vision.

A structured approach to turning one of Dubai's most complex corporate portfolios into a clear, compelling digital experience.

Discover

Portfolio audit & audience mapping

Mapped Meraas's six business verticals and their distinct audiences — from property investors and hospitality guests to retail visitors and leisure-seekers — to understand what the site needed to communicate and to whom.

Define

Site structure & hierarchy

Defined an information architecture that gave each sector a clear presence within a unified group structure — avoiding the fragmentation that typically affects conglomerate websites.

Design

Visual language & UI

Developed a premium, imagery-led visual language that conveyed the scale and ambition of the group — restrained in palette, confident in layout, and rich enough to do justice to landmark destinations like City Walk and Bluewaters.

Deliver

Responsive build & handoff

Delivered fully responsive designs across breakpoints — ensuring editorial impact at desktop scale translated cleanly to the mobile screens used by visitors exploring Meraas destinations on the ground.

A full responsive web presence — homepage, sector hubs, destination pages, and a design system that scaled across the group.

Homepage & group identity

Designed the homepage as the group's flagship statement — communicating Meraas's scale, vision, and breadth through an editorial, imagery-driven layout that immediately conveyed the ambition of the brand.

Destination & development pages

Designed individual pages for Meraas's landmark destinations — City Walk, La Mer, Bluewaters, The Beach at JBR — each communicating the character of the destination while remaining within the group visual system.

Sector & business unit hubs

Created structured hub pages for each of Meraas's business verticals — real estate, retail, hospitality, F&B, leisure, and healthcare — giving each sector a clear entry point without fragmenting the group experience.

Responsive design system

Built a responsive design system that carried Meraas's premium aesthetic consistently across device sizes — from the wide editorial grids of desktop through to the compact, tap-friendly layouts needed for mobile visitors on-site.
