My value contributions
As a Product Designer at Shell, I focused on digitising and refining internal HR interfaces to improve how employees accessed and completed essential HR and compliance tasks. My work involved analysing existing workflows to uncover inefficiencies, then designing clearer, more intuitive digital experiences that supported employees in meeting their obligations.
I collaborated with HR stakeholders, compliance teams, and engineers to align the interface updates with policy requirements and technical systems, while ensuring the designs were accessible and consistent with Shell’s design standards. I also prototyped and tested new flows with employees to validate usability and drive adoption, helping to reduce reliance on manual processes and service desk support.
Business outcomes
These outcomes highlight how my contributions helped streamline HR processes at Shell. By digitising workflows and improving usability, the project reduced service desk demand, boosted adoption of self-service tools, and strengthened compliance — delivering measurable gains in efficiency, cost savings, and employee satisfaction.
Cyber security scorecard project
This project focused on improving employee awareness and participation in Shell’s cyber-security initiatives through the creation of digital scorecards. The aim was to build strong security behaviours by making mandatory training, best practices, and safe system usage more transparent and engaging. The scorecards highlighted key focus areas such as device protection, secure data sharing, ethical communication, and the prevention of social engineering, helping employees better understand their role in protecting company systems and information.

The HUB: Internal Intranet
I contributed to user experience improvements on Shell’s internal HR intranet, The HUB. The work focused on streamlining navigation, improving the clarity of key employee services, and reducing friction in everyday tasks such as accessing HR resources, policies, and support. By simplifying information architecture and enhancing usability across high-traffic areas, the project delivered a more intuitive, employee-friendly platform that supports efficiency and engagement at scale.

Shell careers portal
Shell was looking to update their main careers portal where applicants can find out more about the culture of the company, locate roles, and apply for them. The original user interface designs featured below were originally designed by an outside agency, I was tasked with giving them a heuristic review and providing my feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Feedback from Shell highlighted my impact on the employee experience platform, recognising my expertise in UX/UI design, accessibility, and design systems. I was acknowledged for bringing an employee-first mindset, strengthening collaboration across teams, and helping deliver a more seamless, engaging experience for over 90,000 users.
