About Binance

Binance is one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, founded in 2017 and operating globally. The platform supports hundreds of digital assets and offers services across spot trading, derivatives, savings, staking, and decentralized finance (DeFi). Alongside trading, Binance provides secure digital wallets, payment solutions, and a suite of tools for both retail and institutional investors. The company positions itself as a leader in the crypto and Web3 ecosystem, aiming to make digital assets more accessible through innovation, education, and regulatory compliance.

My contributions

As a Product Designer, I contributed to improving key areas of the Binance platform, including the Profile & Services section and the PNL (Profit & Loss) analysis tool. My work involved running heuristic reviews, conducting user testing, and identifying usability improvements. I created wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to refine layouts, enhance navigation, and improve accessibility. These efforts helped simplify complex financial information, streamline workflows, and deliver a clearer, more user-friendly experience across the app.

Profile & services refinement

This project focused on improving the Profile & Services section of the Binance app, ensuring users could more easily manage their accounts and access key features. The work involved creating a clearer separation between profile information and available services, refining patterns for better consistency, and redesigning the shortcuts and services displays to be more intuitive and accessible. My contributions included running user testing and heuristic reviews, then translating insights into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that simplified navigation and strengthened overall usability.

Problem statement

The Profile & Services section in the Binance app lacked clarity and structure, making it difficult for users to distinguish between account information, shortcuts, and available services. Inconsistent patterns, crowded layouts, and limited hierarchy created confusion and reduced discoverability of key features. This negatively impacted usability, efficiency, and overall user confidence when navigating their account.

Solution Statement

To address these issues, I contributed to redesigning the Profile & Services section with a clearer separation between account information and service features. The layout and patterns were refined to improve consistency, while shortcuts and services were reorganised to be more intuitive and accessible. Through heuristic reviews, user testing, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design, the section was transformed into a more structured, user-friendly hub that improved discoverability, efficiency, and overall usability.

PNL analysis section

The PNL (Profit & Loss) analysis tool within the Binance wallet was reviewed to improve clarity, accessibility, and ease of use for traders. My contribution focused on running a heuristic review to identify quick-win opportunities, including layout refinements, improved date range selection, and enhanced sharing functionality. I also explored ways to simplify complex data displays, ensuring the section was easier to interpret and aligned with accessibility standards. The resulting design updates provided users with a clearer, more actionable view of their trading performance.

The PNL (Profit & Loss) analysis tool in the Binance wallet presented complex financial data in a way that was difficult to interpret and act upon. Inconsistent layouts, limited filtering and date range options, and a lack of accessible patterns created friction for users trying to understand their trading performance. This reduced the tool’s effectiveness, leading to confusion, missed insights, and lower engagement from both new and experienced traders.

Solution Statement

To improve clarity and usability, I contributed to refining the PNL analysis tool through a heuristic review and quick-win design enhancements. This included reorganising layouts for better readability, improving the date range functionality, and enhancing sharing options to make insights easier to act upon. Accessibility considerations were embedded into the redesign to ensure the tool worked seamlessly across different user needs. The result was a clearer, more intuitive interface that allowed traders to quickly interpret their performance and make informed decisions with confidence.
